Play All! is organized by MEDIA Desk Denmark, the computer games education DADIU and the Danish Computer Game Zone. This is the 7th annual games seminar – in the past, Ben Cousins, Margaret Wallace, Teut Weidemann, Randy Pagulayan, and others have talked about various game related topics.
MEDIA Desk Denmark is a joint venture between the MEDIA programme of the European Union and the Danish Film Institute. MEDIA Desk Denmark informs and consults Danish Film, TV and Games professionals on EU audiovisual policy and how to obtain EU funding for projects. MEDIA supports development of interactive works with up till 100,000 Euro. MEDIA Desk Denmark is always open for information meetings.
DADIU (The National Academy of Digital, Interactive Entertainment) is the Danish computer games education. The educations is a specialization for students being trained in the field of computer games at various art schools and universities in all of Denmark: Visuel Arts, Animation, Audio Design, Direction, Programming and Project Management. At DADIU, the students complete two games productions over the course of two years - the productions last four weeks and eight weeks. The graduation games are doing well: Last year a game was selected for the Independent Games Award in San Francisco, this year a games has been was selected for Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle.
Computerspilzonen The goal of the Computer Game Zone, is to establish a framework that enables developing the game industry into a healthy, internationally oriented industry with viable businesses geared for growth. With a budget of 3 million Danish kroner from the Region Hovedstaden, a cash investment from the Producentforeningen at about 2 million Danish kroner, and not least with project investments from partners in the consortium, the Experience Zone for the computergames will reach a total budget of well over 20 million Danish kroner over 3 year.
