The Italian Trade Commission and Marche Film Commission – Marche Region are pleased to invite you to the Danish premiere of Michael Zampino’s newest film, L’Erede – The Heir (Italy, 2010) on the 8th of June 2011 at the Italian Cultural Institute.
This is the first movie from the French-Italian director and was shown at the International Film Festival of India, San Paolo Film Festival and Film Festival Bif&st in Bari in 2010
“The sins of his father shall be revisited on the son”
This universal story is the simple theme of L’Erede. When Bruno inherits a run-down house, he discovers an entirely new aspect to his father’s life. It is the beginning of a nightmare that forces Bruno to face up to the ghost of his father as well as his own demons. The aim is to relate to how Bruno, finding himself isolated in hostile territory, reconsiders his life and becomes stronger in the process.
For Bruno, this represents at first – a real journey into the unknown, both sudden and traumatic. The rural world he discovers is a cruel bestiary, where nature is voilent and danger lurks everywhere. Nevertheless, this is the very experience that ‘frees’ Bruno from the burden of his father and his questionable values. The objective is to find a balance between black comedy and drama. L’Erede is above all a film about characters and atmosphere. The majestic scenery of Marche region in Central Italy provides the perfect backdrop to this story.
