The FORUM is looking for new inspiring documentary projects to be pitched at the 19th edition of IDFA’s international co-financing market. At the FORUM public pitches are combined with pre-arranged individual meetings. The FORUM takes place during IDFA from 21-23 November 2011 at the Compagnietheater in Amsterdam. We would like to know about projects you are currently working with that would be suitable for the FORUM and please encourage producers to submit their project(s) to the FORUM.
Over the course of three days approx. 45 projects will be presented in public pitches; the pre-arranged one-on-one meetings following the public pitches insures that commissioning editors can have follow up meetings with the producer/director teams who are of their interest and vice versa. Last year’s survey proved that this combination of public pitches and private meetings is still highly valued by all participants. 95% of last years attendees were satisfied or very satisfied with the FORUM. Both the networking aspect as well as securing finance for projects turned out to be very positive.
Round table pitches and Central Pitches
Following the positive response and results of last year’s edition we will again have an equal amount of central and round table pitches, thus giving projects in all stages of production optimal chances to find partners. FORUM welcomes all genres within the creative documentary: from history to social issues, from politics, arts and culture to human interest stories.
Genre specific programming
After last year’s successful introduction of genre specific programming of the round tables we will continue programming Arts and Culture and Cross Media projects in special intended round table sessions thus giving those working is these fields the best chances to find partners.
