It's only guesswork:
At 00:49 - 1:09 you can admire a typical expression and gesture by the great German actor Albert Steinrück.
The lady taking leave from him is Mia May.
Steinrück's clothes and features are quite the same as in DIE SCHULD DER LAVINIA MORLAND, directed by Joe May in 1920.
See the two frames or stills from the film at filmportal.de.

The movie was novelized by Ernst Klein (Berlin, 1921). According to the novel, Lavinia Ellis visits the rich Mr. Morland at his home to tell him that she will accept his proposal of marriage (chapter 9, p. 76). The end of that scene was put into the compilation film.

Thank you again! I'm sure you are right, and I can see what you mean with the typical expression by Albert Steinrück.
Why these scenes are put together with the horses in the beginning, are still a mystery.
