European Film College
Founded in 1993 by a group of Danish filmmakers, the EFC is the only Danish folk high school specifically built to teach filmmaking. Apart from the Film Foundation course, the school offers shorter courses, seminars, meetings and more for the film industry.
International guest teachers over the years have included Wim Wenders, Christine Vachon, Jan Harlan, Rick Senat, Charles MacDonald, Mamoun Hassan and many more. The school also has artist-in-residence facilities for professional filmmakers.
Instruction
The school's primary activity is an 8½-month course in filmmaking. 115 students are admitted every year. Half of the students are Danish, the other half from other countries. The curriculum includes screenwriting, producing, acting, cinematography, editing, sound and fiction and documentary film directing.
