CANNES 2017. Ditte Milsted of Profile Pictures is selected as one of twenty promising European producers to participate in the networking platform Producers on the Move during the Cannes Festival. Among Milsted's co-producing achievements is Grímur Hákonarson's "Rams," winner of Un Certain Regard in Cannes.
China and Denmark Sign Film Agreement

CO-PRODUCTION AGREEMENT. Denmark, as the first Nordic country, is signing a film co-production agreement with China. This takes place in Beijing on May 3 in connection with Danish PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen's official visit to China.

Bille and Anders August filming Lucky Per

IN PRODUCTION. A miniseries based on the Danish classic "Lucky Per" will start shooting in August. Director is Bille August, who wrote the screenplay with his son Anders August.

Bobbi Jene wins at Tribeca

AWARDS. Elvira Lind's "Bobbi Jene" is "pushing nonfiction intimacy to bold new places," said the jury of the documentary competition at Tribeca, where the film took home three of the four documentary competition awards.

Mahdi Fleifel to Cannes Short Films Competition

CANNES. "A Drowning Man" by Danish-Palestinian director Mahdi Fleifel is selected for the Short Films Competition at the Cannes Festival 2017, running 17-28 May. 

Inside game wins four BAFTAs

AWARDS. Danish video game "Inside" won big at the Bafta Game Awards held on Thursday in London. Playdead studio also made a splash with their previous puzzle game, 2010's "Limbo."

Last Men in Aleppo wins at CPH:DOX

AWARDS. "Last Men in Aleppo," about the daily life and struggle of a group of White Helmet rescue workers in the war-torn city of Aleppo, won the main award at CPH:DOX (16-26 March).
