Fresh from the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, Susanne Bier joins the World Dramatic jury of the Sundance Film Festival in the somewhat cooler setting of Utah's Park City. Bier will, along with writer-director Bong Joon-Ho and MoMA curator Rajendra Roy, be voting for the festival's best international feature.
Bier's "In a Better World" is selected for the Spotlight section and will be having its first screening on 21 January at 3 p.m. at the Sundance Institute.
Childhood memories in shorts section
Thor Ochsner's "1989 (When I Was 5 Years Old)" is running in the animation shorts section – first screening is on 21 January at midnight.
Ochsner, who is an editing student at the National Film School in Copenhagen, will later this month travel to Rotterdam Film Festival, where his 10-minute animation molded over a fatal childhood memory is selected for competition.
