Ask Hasselbalch, Flemming Quist Møller, Jannik Hastrup and Joshua Oppenheimer are among the Danish directors on their way to Berlin. Meet the filmmakers in the Danish Film Institute's print and online magazine featuring interviews, backgrounds and news about the films at the Berlinale.
Ask Hasselbalch tells about the challenges of having his young, innocent superhero grow into a teenager in "Antboy – Revenge of the Red Fury." The animation partners Jannik Hastrup and Flemming Quist Møller share their vision for creating film for the youngest audience in their new adventure about the half-inch heroes "Mini and the Mozzies."
Christian Braad Thomsen writes about his relationship with German auteur Rainer Werner Fassbinder, whom he portrays in the documentary "Fassbinder – To Love without Demands, based on unpublished interviews he shot with the director in the 1970s. Joshua Oppenheimer, in Berlin with "The Look of Silence," reflects on how he sees his role as documentary filmmakers.
