Exclusive premieres at CPH PIX

CPH PIX. Denmark's largest feature film festival, running 9-22 April, offers a wide range of events, talks, concerts and, of course, new films from around the globe. For now, these are some of the local highlights at this year's edition, opening and closing with premieres from Danish directors.

Bridgendpix

OPENING FILM. Jeppe Rønde's fiction debut "Bridgend," to open CPH PIX, was well-received earlier this year at the Rotterdam and Göteborg festivals and is off to Tribeca in late April. Framegrab.

The opening film of CPH PIX 2015 is Jeppe Rønde's feature film debut Bridgend, which is based on true events from Bridgend County in South Wales where a wave of teen suicides shook the small community a few years back. In January, the film was screened at Rotterdam and Göteborg Film Festivals and won a Special Mention at the latter, and is off to compete at Tribeca Film Festival in New York end of April.

At CPH PIX Bridgend competes in the main competition New Danish Talent Grand PIX with two other Danish debut films: Thomas Daneskov's The Elite and Anne Sofie Hartmann's Limbo.

Danish Premieres

Three other Danish feature films will premiere at CPH PIX. The thriller The Idealist by Christina Rosendahl plus the two directorial feature film debuts Long Story Short by May el-Toukhy and In Your Arms by Samanou Acheche Sahlstrøm. At the film festival in Göteborg in January, "In Your Arms" took home the Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film as well as the international film critics' FIPRESCI Award.

Director Christian Braad Thomsen's Fassbinder – To Love without Demands is a portrait of one of the world's most prominent directors. The documentary was selected for the Panorama Dokumente series at the Berlinale this year, where the film made its world premiere, while the Danish premiere will take place during CPH PIX.
