When the nominations for the European Film Awards 2012 were announced in November, the Danish film industry had cause for celebration, as eight nominations went to Danish films.
As the winners were revealed at the European Film Academy's annual awards night on Saturday 1 December in Malta, spirits were no less dampened when Tobias Lindholm and Thomas Vinterberg won the award for European Screenwriter for Vinterberg's "The Hunt".
"The Hunt" is produced by Morten Kaufmann and Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa. The film, which won the Best Actor award in Cannes earlier this year, is playing in several European cinemas: Currently in the Netherlands, Greece, Belgium, France, Italy and the UK.
