Peter the Painter is one of the medieval colourful church painters. In this film he enters the whitewashed nave, mounts ladders and scaffolds and composes his pictorial stories about angles and devils and human beings in bright colours on walls and arches. The Devil himself steps down from the wall to attack Peter, but as in all fairy-tales where good and evil are present, the good element always wins at the end.
