Torben Skjødt Jensen

Director and producer. Born 8/11 1958 in Aalborg. Baptized in Holstebro, moved to Roskilde in 1965. Lower secondary education from Lynghøjskolen, Svogerslev 1975, Higher Preparatory Examination from Roskilde Katedralskole in 1977. Studied Film Science at the University of Copenhagen 1978-82.

Worked at the cartoon publishing company Interpresse/Runepress from 1976-1983 and edited De Kulørte Sider (Coloured Pages), a magasine about cartoons.

1981-85: Music and filmwriter on the magasines Staccato and Ung Nu. 1983-84: Graphic organizer at Gutenbergshus / Select Video. First video production at The Danish Video Workshop, Haderslev 1983. Was a member of the project-editorial-board at the workshop 1984-85. Project-employee 1985-86 on "Linedanser i Danmark" /"Tightrope in Denmark" (editorial manager/editor) and Videofestival 86 (program employee). First production at the Danish Film Workshop i Copenhagen in 1987, program employee and editor at the projects "Next Stop, Sovjet", "Instant Karma" and "Museum Europe" at the workshop between 1988 and 1993. Member of the project-editorial-board 1992. 1985-1987: Co-owner of the production company Englefilm, regularly producing for TV-Syd from 1985-86. 1987-88: Affiliated with the studio Tegneværkstedet, Frederiksberg, misc. graphic production and commercials. 1989-1991: Affiliated with the studio Mand Over Bord, Kbh., div. graphic production, music videos and TV-porgrams.

1991-1994: in cooporation with Thomas Gammeltoft/Film og Lyd.
1992: Participant at Frank Daniel's scriptwriters class, European Film College, Ebeltoft. 1994-1996: In cooporation with Henrik Møller Sørensen/ASA Film. 1995-1999: In cooporation with Steen Herdel/ Herdel Filmproduktion. 1997: In cooporation with Hans Erik Saks/Saks Film & TV. 1996-1999 and 2003-2006: In cooporation with Thomas Stenderup/Final Cut Productions. 1998-2001: In cooporation with Thomas Gammeltoft/Angel Productions.

2003 & 2005: Participant at Frank Cursaro workshop for Actors/Directors at European Film College, Ebeltoft. 2000-2003: In cooporation with DR Fiktion, Ingolf Gabold/Piv Bernth, transmissions og theatre. 2009: In cooporation with Mette Heide/Plus Pictures. 2010: Participant at the workshop Tareula II, San Sebastian for european & latinamerican producers/directors. 1996-2011: Owner of the production company Point of No Return Productions.

Skjødt Jensen directed the feature "The Tenth Muse" (2003), which received the Audience Award at Copenhagen Film Festival, as well as a number of documentaries like "Carl Th. Dreyer - My Metier" (1995), which received both a danish Bodil and Robert Award for Best Documentary, and "Armed With Words & Wings" (2018) about the life and death of danish poet Michael Strunge.
