Frederikke Aspöck

(1974 – )

Director. Born 12/8 1974, Denmark. Holds an MFA in Filmmaking from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU, and a BA in set design from Wimbledon School of Art in London.

Aspöck has directed several short films, including her thesis film from Tisch, 'Happy Now' (2004), which amongst numerous other awards won the Premier Prix de la Cinéfondation in Cannes. Directed the short 'Sheep' in 2008 and is out with her first feature film 'Out of Bounds' in 2011, selected for Cannes' Special Screening lineup.

Frederikke Aspöck's first feature 'Out of Bounds' (2011) premiered in Cannes and won the Golden Star Award at Marrakech Film Festival. Her second feature 'Rosita' (2015) won her the Best Director Award at Moscow International Film Festival. The comedy 'Out of Tune' (2019) is Aspöck's third feature. It was selected for both Rotterdam and Göteborg Film Festival.
