Käehne wrote for multiple episodes of the television series 'Borgen' (2013) and 'The Bridge' (2013). 'Long Story Short' (2015) is her feature film debut as a screenwriter and earned her a Bodil Award in 2016. She has since written the screenplay for Ali Abbasi's 'Shelley' (2016) and May El-Toukhy's 'Queen of Hearts' (2019). The latter won the audience award at Sundance Film Festival as well as three prizes at Göteborg Film Festival, including the main prize for best nordic film.
