Hlynur Pálmason

Director. Born 1984, Iceland. Graduated as director from the National Film School of Denmark in 2013.

Pálmason made his feature debut with the well-received 'Winter Brothers' (2017), which won the Best Actor Award (to Elliott Crosset Hove) plus an additional three prizes at its world premiere at the Locarno Festival. The film also took home the main award at CPH PIX as well as nine Robert and two Bodil statuettes – both including for best film – at Denmark's two distinguished prize events.

His third feature film, 'Godland' (2022), was selected for Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Festival.

Pálmason recieved the 2018 Dreyer Award, celebrating outstanding artistic achievement among primarily young filmmakers.
