Morten Henriksen

(1950 – )

Born 1950, Denmark. Graduated in literature at the University of Copenhagen and in direction at the National Film School of Denmark, 1979.



Morten Henriksen wrote scripts and directed documentaries and TV dramas before he made his first fiction feature, "De nøgne træer"/"he Naked Trees" (1991). "Magnetisørens femte vinter"/"The Magnetist's Fifth Winter" (1999), an adaptation of P.O. Enquist's novel of the same name, was prize winner at festivals in Rouen and Palm Springs, and his children¿s short "Hænderne op!"/"Hands Up!" (1997) took home the Crystal Bear at the Berlin Kinder Film Festival. The documentary "Med retten til at dræbe"/"With a Right to Kill" (2003), co-directed with Peter Øvig Knudsen, examines the execution of Danish informers during WW2. In 2011 he made the drama documentary "Bag Blixens maske"/Karen Blixen - Behind her Mask".
