Upon its theatrical release on 13 September, "You & Me Forever" scores 4 out of 6 stars in the major Danish newspapers Politiken, Berlingske, Jyllands-Posten and Ekstra Bladet, and 5 stars in the film magazine Ekko, writing that "'You & Me Forever' should be mandatory curriculum for directors who want to take on the difficult genre. You have to go back to Malmros' 'Tree of Knowledge' to find a more convincing authentic atmosphere of adolescence".

"You & Me Forever" is written and directed by Kaspar Munk and produced by Anders Toft Andersen for Nimbus Film with support from the Danish Film Institute.

Julie Brochorst Andersen, who also starred in "Hold Me Tight", plays Laura, and Frederikke Dahl Hansen, leading lady of Heidi Maria Faisst's "Rebounce" has the role of Laura's new precocious friend Maria. Additional cast are Emilie Kruse, Allan Hyde, Cyron Melville and Morten Hauch-Fausbøll.
