Bio Benjamin ("Benjamin Cinema") is a strong choice for smaller events where up to 42 guests need to come together around a presentation, film screening or shared message.
The size of the auditorium makes it easy to create a close connection and encourage dialogue between the speaker and the audience. At the same time, the large screen and sound system give the content a professional setting.
The auditorium is named after Danish film director, screenwriter and actor Benjamin Christensen, best known internationally for the silent film Häxan from 1922. Your event therefore takes place in a setting with a clear connection to Danish film history.

Bio Benjamin can also be used as a smaller breakout venue during a conference or larger corporate event, giving part of the audience a separate programme with a cinema screen and sound system.

Bio Benjamin has a cinema screen and sound system for presentations, film clips and film screenings.
Before the event, we will review your material, playback format and technical requirements with you so that the necessary setup can be agreed in advance.
The agreed setup and any optional extras will be specified in your final proposal.
Make film part of your event
A film screening can be the main focus of the event or form part of an employee event, client programme or membership event.
Cinemateket's event team can assist with finding and booking a suitable film as well as confirming the necessary screening rights.
Any costs associated with film hire and screening rights will be agreed separately.
Catering for your event
Meyers can provide catering for events in Bio Benjamin. Drinks may be taken into the auditorium, while food is served outside the cinema.
The available catering setup will depend on the programme, number of guests and any additional area booked for the event.

The central location makes Bio Benjamin easy to reach for guests travelling from elsewhere in Copenhagen, from other parts of Denmark or from abroad. It is particularly convenient for smaller daytime meetings, after-work events, screenings and professional gatherings.

- Should we choose Bio Benjamin or Himmelskibet? Bio Benjamin is the better choice when a screen, film or shared presentation is at the centre of the event. Himmelskibet ("The Sky Ship") is better suited to workshops, group work and meetings that require tables and a flexible layout.
- Can Bio Benjamin be used as part of a larger event? Yes. Bio Benjamin can be used for a smaller breakout session, a separate film screening or a presentation for part of a larger group. This will depend on the availability of the other venues.
- Can we arrange food and beverages? Yes. Catering is provided by Meyers. Drinks may be taken into Bio Benjamin, while food is served outside the auditorium in an area booked by agreement.
