Foyer for arrivals, receptions and networking
Cinemateket's Foyer is an open arrival and event space with large windows facing Gothersgade and the King's Garden.
With direct access from the street and capacity for up to 500 standing guests, the Foyer provides a natural setting for welcoming guests, registration, conference breaks and receptions.
The Foyer can be booked as a separate event area but is particularly valuable when combined with Bio Carl, Filmtaget or another venue within Cinemateket. Guests can arrive and register here, return during breaks and gather again before or after the main programme.

A natural space for arrivals and networking
The Foyer is well suited as the first and last space guests encounter during an event. Registration, name badges, cloakroom facilities, coffee and practical information can all be brought together here before the programme begins.
During the event, the Foyer can be used for breaks, standing catering and conversations between participants. After the programme, it can provide the setting for a reception or informal conclusion, allowing guests to continue the event without leaving the building.
A mobile reception desk can be positioned according to the needs of the event and adapted with your company or event identity.
An open space with the option of exclusive use
The Foyer is Cinemateket's central public area. Unless otherwise agreed, other visitors and activities may therefore be present during your event.
Exclusive use of the Foyer can be arranged. Availability and pricing depend on factors including the size and timing of the event and the use of other venues within Cinemateket.
If you require a screened-off area, dedicated registration, cloakroom facilities or a particular guest flow, the setup will be agreed with Cinemateket's event team.

Practical setup
Before the event, we will agree on the placement of registration facilities, the mobile reception desk, catering stations, branding and other practical functions.
Screens can be used for branding, programmes and practical information. If you require additional technical equipment or a particular setup, Cinemateket's event team will review the available options with you in advance.
Catering in the Foyer
Meyers can provide food and beverages for the event, including coffee on arrival, breakfast, snacks, light dishes, wine and reception catering.
Catering can be served in the Foyer and combined with registration, conference breaks, networking or a reception before or after the main programme.
The menu, serving style and price will be agreed according to the event format, duration and number of guests.
Combine the Foyer with the rest of Cinemateket
The Foyer works particularly well as an arrival area, break zone and social meeting point for events in Cinemateket's other venues.
When Bio Carl is booked, the Foyer can by agreement be used for one hour either before or after the event. If you need the Foyer both before and after the programme or for a longer period, additional time can be booked.
For example, an event might begin with registration and coffee in the Foyer, continue with a presentation or screening in one of the cinema auditoriums and conclude with a reception in the Foyer, Asta Bar or on Filmtaget ("The Film Roof"), Cinemateket's rooftop venue.
All additional venues and areas are booked separately, subject to availability.
A central Copenhagen location
The Foyer is located at street level in Cinemateket with direct access from Gothersgade. Nørreport Station and the Metro are only a few minutes' walk away.
This makes the Foyer easy to find and access for local guests as well as attendees travelling from elsewhere in Denmark or abroad.
Its position beside the main entrance also makes the Foyer a natural meeting point for events taking place elsewhere in the building.

- Can we have exclusive use of the Foyer? Yes. Exclusive use can be arranged depending on the timing and size of the event and the activities taking place elsewhere in the building. Without an agreement on exclusive use, other visitors may be present in the area.
- Is use of the Foyer included when we book Bio Carl? By agreement, the Foyer can be used for one hour either before or after an event in Bio Carl. Additional time can be booked if you need the area for longer or both before and after the programme.
- Does the Foyer work best on its own or with another venue? The Foyer can be booked separately but often provides the greatest value when combined with Bio Carl or another venue. It is particularly suitable as an arrival, break or reception area within a larger event.
- What types of events are most suitable for the Foyer? The Foyer is particularly suitable for registration, receptions, networking and informal conversations where guests move freely through the space. It helps create a clear arrival experience and a natural flow through the event.
- Can we set up registration and branding? Yes. The Foyer has a mobile reception desk that can be positioned according to your requirements and adapted with your company or event identity. Additional signage, installations and branding must be agreed in advance.
- Can we arrange food and beverages? Yes. Food and beverages are provided by Meyers and can be served in the Foyer by agreement. The menu and serving format will be adapted to the event.
- Is the Foyer accessible for wheelchair users? Yes. The Foyer has direct access from street level and is accessible for wheelchair users.
