The main idea behind the school cinema programme is to let teachers and students use their local cinema as a classroom, watching films and then analysing and working with them afterwards.
Ranging widely, with films from around the world, the programme appeals to children and students from kindergartens to high schools and other secondary schools.
Screenings are accompanied by teaching materials supporting the students work with their teachers. The materials are available for free at the DFI’s educational website Filmcentralen.
This nationwide programme is the product of a partnership between the Danish Film Institute, centres of teaching materials, film distributors, cinemas and the municipalities.
