A mysterious and secretive satanic cult, has been spreading fear and loathing throughout Denmark for the past 40 years. A small, but determined film crew ventures to the remote island of Anholt: The Island of Lucifer, as the cult has named it - to uncover the truth behind the mystery. The journey, that brings the filmmakers from Copenhagen all through Denmark, reveals several clues and strange coincidences, and ultimately results in a surprising and unpredictable conclusion.

The director's personal description of a year on the little Danish island of Anholt where he settled down and lived alone in a house, in an attempt to sense an originality and inheritance we all have within us and upon the understanding of which our continuing existence is dependent. It is an exploration of a life, where it is possible to live in a balance with nature, which brings death closer without it being frightening, but on the contrary the basis for a secure and harmonious life. it is, among other things, expressed in the people living here - quiet lives, part of the description of the place and vividly illustrating the richness of everyday life.
