Black Box

Søren Martinsen, Lars Mathisen, Anna Bridgwater, 1993

Black Box is a concept used in cybernetics and computer science. It describes a closed system, the contents of which are unknown and which can only be calculated by observing in- and output. The video depicts the concept artistically and visually with installations by 27 young artists participating in the exhibition Black Box, arranged by the Art and Culture group Globe, 1993.

Fever

Phie Ambo, 2010

Fever guides us into the incredibly detailed universe of illustrator Julie Nord, where small girls in pretty dresses have houses in their bellies, and where chimney smoke turns into phantasmagoric patterns of mouths and hands, cats and bones. A work is created, and doubt is sewn. When is a work complete? Julie Nord is sharing her creative reflections with us through the unobtrusive presence of Ambo's camera.

Apolonia, Apolonia

Lea Glob, 2022

When Danish filmmaker Lea Glob first portrayed Apolonia Sokol in 2009, she appeared to be leading a storybook life. The talented Apolonia was born in an underground theater group in Paris and grew up in an artists’ community—the ultimate bohemian existence. In her 20s, she studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, one of the most prestigious art academies in Europe.
