It is not just in the Middle East that political activism is flourishing. 'Pockets of Resistance' is the attempt by the Danish journalist Ralf Christensen to identify the new creative and peaceful forms of revolt that prosper at the fringes of established society. From COP 15 demonstrators in Copenhagen to fierce confrontations in front of the Bolivian parliament and interactive political street theatre for Nepal's oppressed - Christensen's film is filled with inspiring, 'glocal' mini-reflections of Arab revolutions (kilde: CPH:DOX-kataloget).

Nikolaj Viborg, 2008

"69" is a documentary about a large group of young people who did not see themselves, culturally or politically, as part of established society. In 1982 they lawfully occupied what was known as the Youth House (Ungdomshuset) at Jagtvej 69, on the outskirts of Copenhagen. The film portrays the group's situation in 2007, documenting the stormy last six months of the Youth House's history, where the radicalized group rage against the establishment.

In the setting of a local boxing club, the series follows the talented young boxer, Rida and his friend Omar, who both love their neighborhood. They are unhappy about the fact that other people think that their home is the worst place on earth. The two boys highly disagree.

The film depicts the philosophy of the autonomous through interviews, their relation to grown-ups, the adult fascists as they call them.

In March 2011, radio host Obaidah Zytoon and her circle of friends join the street protests against President Bashar al-Assad, as the Arab Spring reaches Syria. Knowing their country would be changed forever, this group of artists and activists begin filming their lives and the events around them. But as the regime’s violent response spirals the country into a bloody civil war, their hopes for a better future will be tested by violence, imprisonment and death.

In June 1973 the NATO Council of Ministers held a conference in Copenhagen. Therefore the theatre of action, SOLVOGNEN, sent out a group of picked troops to maintain order. The film is constructed as a pro-NATO film and we watch as the AMF protect ministers, clear left-wing demonstrations, do sight-seeing in Copenhagen, and we are shown scenes from a NATO-performance in the Grey Hall.

Burma VJ - reporter i et lukket land

Armed with small handy cams, undercover video journalists in Burma keep up the flow of news from their closed country despite risking torture and life in jail. Their material is smuggled out of Burma and broadcast back via satellite. 'Joshua', age 27, becomes tactical leader of a group of reporters, as Buddhist monks in September 2007 lead a massive uprising.
