Per's ex-wife have found herself a new man and are moving abroad with their two children. On their last weekend together, Per takes the children on a canoe trip in the Swedish wilderness, however, his attempts to keep the family together fails and in the woods desperation takes hold of him.

The film follows 12-year-old Maja and 8-year-old Peter through a period of their lives when they experience their parents' divorce. The film describes with seriousness - but also with humour - how the divorce interferes in their lives in relation to their friends, family and themselves. Is it their fault? Is mummy foolish - because daddy says so? Elisabeth Rygård about the film: »Heart of Glass« describes a development within the children from chaos and sorrow to acceptance of the new living conditions.

A bittersweet comedy about Sophie, 7, whose parents give her a hamster called Jensen, along with the sad news that they are divorcing. On the day her Dad moves out, Sophie accidently hoovers Jensen up in the vacuum cleaner. Seeing their sobbing daughter and a hamster coughing violently, her parents postpone the move.
