The film begins the day Joana and Berthold Barluschke separate. It tells the story, of someone who gets lost in the second half of the 20th century. Because of the desire to stand out of the crowd, the man becomes an accomplice of the East German State Security Service and subseqeuntly of the West German State Security Service as well.
