The film begins with a brief exposition of the history of the gipsies in Denmark. On this background, we change to the gipsies who at the time were camping on Amager Common. They wish to settle down in Denmark, but through interviews with the gipsies, a welfare officer, the Danish Refugee Council, and others, we get a clear impression of the difficulties involved.
