A generation portrait of young people in the upper secondary school anno 1995 - in the light of the breaks in the canteen of their school: Falkonergårdens Gymnasium in Copenhagen. In four months the camera crew followed the pupils in their own universe: the canteen - the place where they have their breaks - where they can be themselves without meddling from the adults: the teachers and the parents. The pupils tell about everything they care about: feelings, love, friends, inferiorities, boy and girl friends, and teachers with warmth, humour, and self-insight.
