The film seeks to trace how modern architects construct the Danish living environment in historical continuation of national building traditions, shaped by the country's climate and locally available materials. The film does not view architecture as buildings by individual architects, but describes the houses, factories, schools, the airport, villas and summerhouses as the frame in which daily life takes place.
