The Iranian woman Raha is forced to give up her work as an actress and flee her country after the Islamic takeover. During the escape, she gets separated from her daughter and husband who are being held back in Iran. The film is about the breaking of barriers and the struggle for freedom.

Asmir is 10 years old and a Muslim. He uses his faith to learn to know himself better - because who is he after all? He should always be doing good to others, that he knows, but he finds it hard not to be a troublemaker at times. At a school play, he is handed the opportunity to play a troublemaker but it is hard to remember all the lines and everything he has to do on stage but even harder it is to get to know yourself.
