A portrait of Børnehuset (a house for young squatters) in Copenhagen in 1997. We meet 5 of the autonomous from the house and get an insight account of the environment. The film depicts the philosophy of the autonomous through interviews, their relation to grown-ups, the adult fascists as they call them.

The film takes a balanced look behind the barricades and follows the definitive last year in the life of the squatters before all was demolished in March 2007 and riots broke out in Copenhagen.
