In this "dogumentary" two film makers meet the true face of poverty in the developing countries. The film takes place in a remote children's hospital in the northern part of Nigeria (in and around the provincial town Sokoto). It delivers a provocative and raw picture of the lethal, unknown hungers-disease Noma, and at the same time puts our view on the problems in the Third World into perspective.

Our fascination of the disfigured has its roots way back in our collective history. Set against the historical changes in society, culture and natural science, this documentary focuses on the lives and biographies of a number of physically deformed people. The ethical question raised in the film is: do we have the right to use gene technology and early diagnosing to prevent the birth of genetically imperfect children?
