In June 1973 the NATO Council of Ministers held a conference in Copenhagen. Therefore the theatre of action, SOLVOGNEN, sent out a group of picked troops to maintain order. The film is constructed as a pro-NATO film and we watch as the AMF protect ministers, clear left-wing demonstrations, do sight-seeing in Copenhagen, and we are shown scenes from a NATO-performance in the Grey Hall.

The first decade is seen to be a period of economic progress for all fifteen nations of the alliance, and one of strengthening resolve to maintain peace through preparedness. This film visits the fifteen countries in turn, recognizing in each the values and traditions best known to the world.

DENMARK AT WAR is a documentary series about Denmark’s war effort over the course of three decade - about the loss of innocence, the courage, and the consequences it has had for us and for those who the Danish troops fought.
When a nation goes to war, we move closer together to protect and defend those who, risk their lives at the frontline. But once the dust has settled, we must look for the nuances by giving a voice to those who were there; the Danish soldiers, the people who fought against them, as well as the civilians.
