An animated documentary film about children's philosophical thoughts in regards to the theory of evolution, birth, death and ones soul. Based on interviews with children between the ages of 5 and 9 years, and told in a humoristic style that is inspired by children's own drawings.

The director's personal description of a year on the little Danish island of Anholt where he settled down and lived alone in a house, in an attempt to sense an originality and inheritance we all have within us and upon the understanding of which our continuing existence is dependent. It is an exploration of a life, where it is possible to live in a balance with nature, which brings death closer without it being frightening, but on the contrary the basis for a secure and harmonious life. it is, among other things, expressed in the people living here - quiet lives, part of the description of the place and vividly illustrating the richness of everyday life.
