Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), President of the United States 1901-1909, visited Denmark in May 1910. Roosevelt was on his way to Norway in order to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He had been awarded the prize in 1906, due to his involvement in ending the Russo-Japanese war.
