Inside an old farmhouse, a woman prepares an offering: biscuits and apple slices on a plate. It is custom to appease the house spirit (nisse) with offerings of food, for good fortune. The woman waits for a while, hoping perhaps to catch a glimpse of the illusive spirit, but with no luck.
