Masaier på vej

Morten Vest, Robin Schmidt, 2010

A poetic and provocative portrait of indigenous people in the modern world. We meet three Masai and discover how their territory is diminishing, and how the very foundations for their existence are beginning to crumble. We learn about their thoughts on divorce, global warming and development, the latter being as much a threat as a solution.

Sort hvid dreng

Camilla Magid, 2012

Shida is the new kid in class in a private boarding school in Tanzania. He is shy, he has no self esteem,

Natskygger

Anthony Dod Mantle, Poul Rude, 1993

The three characters; a priest, a medical teacher, and a grandmother relate their respective experiences of family loss, overshadowed by a common concern for the future. Living in the western shores of Lake Victoria in the Kagera district of Tanzania, all three have witnessed the passing away of one or more next of kin, in each case inflicted with the deadly AIDS virus. However, the personal confession of the priest, combined with the visual style of this film, serve to shed new light on the conventional profile of »Third World suffering«.
