von Triers 100 øjne

Katia Forbert Petersen, 2000

Lars von Trier's »Dancer in the Dark« was awarded the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2000, while Björk was awarded Best Actress. Trier filmed a single dance scene using 100 cameras - hence the title of this film about the filming of the double winner at Cannes - and about the pain that may well be a condition for producing great art.

De udstillede

Jesper Jargil, 2000

Witness the birth of Dogme. For two months, Danish director, Lars von Trier, turned an Art Museum into a living installation, developing the artistic principles that later fostered the award winning feature films, »Idioterne«/»The Idiots« and »Festen«/»The Celebration«. 53 characters inhabiting 19 rooms - their moods dictated by the movements of unsuspecting ants in New Mexico - gradually transcend the subtle line between fiction and reality.

De ydmygede

Jesper Jargil, 1998

Lars von Trier is celebrated for the out-and-out staging of events - not least of himself. He is notorious for his temperamental relationship with his cast, whom he loves and despises alternately. "The Humiliated" follows the birth of the Dogma film "Idioterne"/"The Idiots" (1998) at close quarters.
