Bertram (20), Bertil (19), Rumle (20), and Noah (21) have been in a band together since middle school. Now, they have just landed a major record deal. A dream is coming true, and the boys suddenly have to navigate everyday life, school, friends, girlfriends, and family, while writing, rehearsing, recording, and playing live shows take up more of their lives.
As their success expands rapidly and everything becomes bigger and more intense, the boys try to find space to grow—individually, as a band, and as friends. It’s about who you are on stage – and who you are when you step away from it. Suddenly, the four friends need each other more than ever before. Despite their differences, they search for something shared: a melody, a nerve, a sound that is truly their own. This requires difficult conversations—about doubt and insecurities—and their creative process of writing music together becomes a mirror of their own youth in transition. 'While We Grow' is not a story about fame and success—it is a story about becoming someone and finding yourself in the world, while holding on to each other. It’s an intimate coming-of-age portrait of a generation learning to stand on its own. Their friendship and unity become a quiet form of resistance: against the pressure to know who you are.
