MUMMY'S BOYS tells the haunting story of Jette, a cruel mother whose grip on her five sons endures decades after her death. When her son Adrian discovers a farewell letter condemning her three eldest children and praising the youngest two, he’s left with her chilling promise: “I’ll be back.” Through both a bestselling book and a hit podcast, Adrian has tried to understand his mother's unhappy, alcoholic life and the hateful letter she left behind. In the film, Jette quite literally returns, embodied by Asta Kamma August (young Jette) and Birthe Neumann (older Jette) to face her sons and the words that continue to haunt them. Meanwhile, their 96-year-old father Hywel appears as himself, while Jakob Cedergren portrays him as a younger man, confronting for the first time his role as an absent father.
