Skrøbelig rigdom

Søren Kloch, Denmark, 1988

35 min.DK/Documentary

A drama-documentary film about a village in southern Africa and its inhabitants' efforts to turn a threatening ecological situation. Mathau, the farmer, tries to make people reintroduce trees in the farms. Mathau says, »A country is only a country when there are many trees.« The village find that he has been attacked by a serious disease which makes him think of nothing but trees. Even Steve, his good frined, is sceptical. Is it worth the trouble? What do the experts say? Is it possible to turn the development, or is it already too late?
