Nordic focus at MIPTV

TV. Europe's biggest TV festival MIPTV, running from 13-16 April, focuses on Nordic TV.

When TV professionals talk about Cannes, they don't mean the famous film festival, but the TV market and conference MIPTV. On Monday, television execs and creative talent from 100 countries converge in Cannes to forge early-stage content development partnerships, seal international distribution deals and be inspired by the seminars on the newest trends in content and technology. Among these are Nordic TV dramas.

On Tuesday, the festival has dedicated a slot to a Nordic focus, including the seminar "The Hottest Drama form the Cold," where DR's Head of Fiction Piv Bernth and creater of TV 2's upcoming TV drama "Norskov" Dunja Gry Jensen will participate in the panel. The programme promises "a sneak preview of the latest Nordic drama titles, along with an examination of the secret storytelling sauce that producers around world are desperate to bottle."

"Norskov" is a provincial police drama directed by Louise Friedberg and produced by Senia Dremstrup from SF Film Production with support from the Danish Film Institute's Public Service Fund.
