Meeting room for workshops, strategy days and smaller conferences
Himmelskibet ("The Sky Ship") is a bright meeting room on the fourth floor of Cinemateket, overlooking the King's Garden. The 130 m² room provides natural daylight and a private setting for presentations, discussions and collaborative work.
Himmelskibet can accommodate up to 25 guests in a boardroom layout or up to 40 guests in theatre-style seating. This makes the room suitable for programmes that combine presentations, discussions and group work.
The room is named after the Danish silent film Himmelskibet from 1918, directed by Holger-Madsen and released internationally as A Trip to Mars.
Himmelskibet is particularly well suited to:
- Meetings and smaller conferences
- Strategy days and internal meetings
- Seminars and workshops
- Board meetings
- Training and professional development
- Presentations and talks
- Breakout sessions during larger events
Flexible layouts for meetings and workshops
Himmelskibet can be arranged according to how participants need to work during the event.
The boardroom layout accommodates up to 25 guests and is well suited to meetings, strategy days, workshops and programmes involving discussion and collaborative tasks.
The theatre-style layout accommodates up to 40 guests and is suitable for presentations, talks, training and smaller conferences where participants primarily follow a shared programme.
Your preferred layout and requirements for the projector, whiteboard and flipchart will be agreed before the event.
From presentations to group work in the same room
Himmelskibet works particularly well for events where participants need both to receive information and work actively with the content.
A strategy day might begin with a shared presentation, continue with discussions and exercises around the tables and conclude with a final group session. During a smaller conference, the room can be used for presentations, training or a breakout session for part of the audience.
Its private location on the fourth floor provides a calm setting for the programme. Himmelskibet can also be combined with Cinemateket's cinema auditoriums, Filmtaget and other event areas, which are booked separately subject to availability.
AV for meetings and presentations
Himmelskibet includes a projector, whiteboard, flipchart and complimentary Wi-Fi for presentations, training and workshop activities.
The projector can be used for slides, video and other visual material. The whiteboard and flipchart can be used to collect ideas, decisions and results throughout the session.
Your preferred layout and any specific technical requirements will be agreed with Cinemateket's event team before the event.
Catering throughout the day
Meyers can provide catering through Restaurant SULT throughout the meeting day, including breakfast, coffee, lunch, fruit, snacks and afternoon refreshments.
Catering can be served in Himmelskibet and adapted to the programme and number of guests.
If you would like to combine the meeting with lunch, drinks or a social conclusion elsewhere, Filmtaget ("The Film Roof"), Cinemateket's rooftop venue, or another venue within the building can be booked separately, subject to availability.
Combine your meeting with Filmtaget
By arrangement, your meeting in Himmelskibet can be combined with breakfast, lunch or drinks on Filmtaget, Cinemateket’s rooftop venue.
Moving from the meeting room to the rooftop gives participants a change of setting and an opportunity to continue the conversation in more informal surroundings with views across Copenhagen.
This combination works particularly well for strategy days, workshops and full-day meetings where you want to balance focused work with networking, hospitality and a memorable social conclusion.
Central location in Copenhagen
Cinemateket is located on Gothersgade in central Copenhagen, close to Nørreport Station, the Metro and the King’s Garden.
The location makes Himmelskibet easy to reach for both local participants and guests travelling from elsewhere in Denmark. Hotels, restaurants and many of Copenhagen’s cultural attractions are also within walking distance.
This makes it easy to combine your meeting with dinner, accommodation or other activities in the city.
