Sportcast 2

Instruktør: Sara Sjölin

While commenting on an old football match between the rival Swedish teams Malmö FF and Helsingborgs IF, the artist Sara Sjölin tells the story of her former relationship with an "emotional colonizer”.When the players enter the field, Sara tells about how she met Helmet, and how romantic it was. The players in the match run, score goals and fall in the pouring rain. Sara tells about the child inside Helmet, and his anger, jealousy and lust. She analyzes the game, Helmet’s personality and their relationship. After the first half of the game, Malmö FF are clear winners, and as the intensity of the game decreases, Sara goes deeper into her own conflicts. Time passes and the relationship with Helmet is distorted into something destructive, which Sara wants to escape from, but he doesn’t let her go. She talks about moving abroad, and her sexual encounters in and outside of the relationship. Finally, the relationship ends, but Helmet lives on as a mythical being. As the game draws to its end, Sara remembers a work of art she made for Helmet, a nude self portrait. She reflects on the work's current and unknown existence. Does he still have it, and can he feel her gaze, through the eyes of the portrait? The game ends and players thank each other after the match and the audience sings victory songs.
