The Brussels Co-Production Forum is an initiative that aims at supporting promising feature films in development and connecting them with potential partners. Created in 2016 with a focus on helping European producers with finding Belgian minority co-productions, it has been divided in two different sections:
- The Gap Financing Sessions, which maintains the original goals of the Forum.
- UP: Up-and-coming producers, a section specifically designed for producers in their early career.
This year once again, one of the projects selected for the Brussels Co-Production Forum will be granted the Music & Cinema Award by our partner MUSIC & CINEMA – Festival International du Film à Marseille.
The Gap Financing Sessions
'The Gap Financing Sessions' was designed as a platform to promote partnerships between European and Belgian producers. At the heart of the European Union, and with a variety of potential investors, Belgium’s film professionals have a valuable expertise to provide in terms of co-production. After a pitching session of the selected projects, participants will have the opportunity to meet on a one-to-one basis with potential partners and attend our networking events and cocktails.
For whom?
European producers looking for a Belgian minority co-production or financial partner to close their budget.
UP: Up-and-coming producers
As the BRIFF’s team has always had at heart the promotion of emerging talents, 'UP: Up-and-coming Producers' was created in order to put into the spotlight projects held by producers at the beginning of their career. Through one-to-one meetings, workshops and other networking events, the selected producers will have the opportunity to create a network of potential partners and gain tools to further develop their projects.
For whom?
Emerging producers developing their first or second feature project looking for a co-producer or financial partner.
