Min oldefars historier - Ridderne (Tone Mygind Rostbøll, DK, 2016)

Theodor is eyeing Great Grandad’s medieval knight’s sword hanging on the wall. He tries to get it down without Great Grandad noticing, but Great Grandad sees him and warns him that a knight’s sword isn’t a toy. With great reverence, Great Grandad tells Theodor that a person has to earn the right to wield a sword and proceeds to recount the tale of how he and Fatso dressed up as real knights and performed knightly deeds. Theodor wants to be a real knight too and makes a cloak out of an old curtain and an impressive suit of armour out of barbeque trays. But how do you earn the right to wield a sword? Theodor asks Great Grandad if he can perform a knightly deed for him – and Great Grandad says he has the perfect thing. Theodor helps Great Grandad carry the firewood into the house and is duly knighted. Theodor and Great Grandad round off the day with a duel – using toy swords, of course!

The Danish Film Institute registers international festival participation and awards for Danish films, though primarily for films whose festival distribution is handled by the Danish Film Institute, and primarily in connection with festivals prioritised by the Danish Film Institute. Festival participation and awards regarding Danish films that are not handled through the Danish Film Institute's festival distribution will only be registered in connection with "launch" festivals, according to the Danish Film Institute's list of priority festivals.
