The Last Waltz med introduktion
Musikjournalist Mikkel Falk Møller introducerer ny 40-års jubilæumskopi af Martin Scorseses ’The Last Waltz’ med og om The Band og gruppens koncert i The Winterland, San Francisco 1976 med bidrag af Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell og mange flere.

San Francisco 1976. Canadisk-amerikanske The Band takker af med et brag af en koncert indfanget af den unge mesterinstruktør Martin Scorsese. På scenen er desuden Bob Dylan – som flittigt brugte det Woodstock-residerende outfit som backinggruppe – samt andre af tidens store musiknavne. Dylan synger 'Forever Young', 'Baby Let Me Follow You Down' og 'I Shall Be Released', og Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Mavis Staples, Van Morrison og Muddy Waters m.fl støder til med en stribe af periodens evergreens. Optagelsen fra San Franciscos Winterland hører til en lille gruppe af helt særlige livedokumenter. Men 'The Last Waltz' er imidlertid lige så meget en film om bandet The Band. I en række herlige scenarier møder vi nemlig undervejs de forskellige medlemmer, som åbenhjertigt og med stor selvironi fortæller om en karriere på godt og ondt. Filmen introduceres af musikjournalist Mikkel Falk Møller.
