Policy

The Danish Film Institute operates within a four-year Film Agreement, in overall accordance with the Film Act of 1997.

The Film Agreement lays down the economic and film-policy framework for the activities of the Danish Film Institute for a four-year period. The Film Agreement is approved by the Danish parliament, the Folketing.

The current Film Agreement period 2019-2023 is, as an exception to the rule, set out to last five years to create coherence with the Media Agreement.

For the current period, the Danish Film Institute has an annual operating budget of about DKK 560m (EUR 75m), not including the Public Service Fund.
