A director, journalist and TV producer, Anders Riis-Hansen has directed notable documentaries such as "The Circus Dynasty," selected for IDFA 2014, and "Blekingegadebanden – The Invisible Cell," which was awarded the Danish film critics' Bodil award for best documentary in 2010.
He has twice served as commissioning editor at national broadcaster DR, where his career in television started in 1986 in DR's children and youth department. Anders Riis-Hansen was, together with producer Malene Flindt Pedersen, previously co-owner of production company Hansen & Pedersen Film og Fjernsyn.
The DFI film commissioner system aims at supporting the best projects on the merit of their content and artistic quality. Each of the six DFI film commissioners performs a subjective assessment that is grounded in a professionally competent analysis, and each is backed by a DFI producer who provides an assessment of the project's financial and technical aspects.
