Bier filming in Denmark

IN PRODUCTION. Foreign-language Oscar winner Susanne Bier returns to Denmark to direct "A Second Chance". Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who has made a name for himself internationally with his role in "Game of Thrones", takes the lead.

Susanne Bier continues her longstanding collaboration with script writer Anders Thomas Jensen which started in 2002 with "Open Hearts" and culminated in the success for "In a Better World", winner of the Best Foreign Language Oscar in 2011.

How far are decent human beings willing to go when tragedy blurs the line between just and unjust? With "A Second Chance", Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen are grappling with questions about how easily we lose our grasp on justice, when we face the unthinkable and life as we know it hangs by a thread.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will be playing the lead, the actor's first leading role in a Danish film in more than a decade. Coster-Waldau had his big international breakthrough as Jaime Lannister in HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" and has also featured in Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk Down" and "Kingdom of Heaven". His recent filmography includes Joseph Kosinski's "Oblivion" and Andrés Muschietti's "Mama" (both 2013).

"A Second Chance" is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa with support from the Danish Film Institute. TrustNordisk handles international sales.
