BURMA VJ continues to impress

Success was once again achieved for Anders Høgsbro Østergaard's filmic document of the monks' 2007 uprising in Burma. "BURMA VJ – Reporting from a Closed Country", taking the vantage point of the underground video journalists reporting on the events, won both the Audience Award and the Amnesty Award for best film under the Human rights category in Thessaloniki. Thursday, 19 March, Østergaard's IDFA winner 08 also received The Vaclav Havel Special Award for the most significant contribution to human rights awareness as well as the Student Jury Award at One World 2009 in Prague. 

"BURMA VJ" is selected for Hong Kong International Film Festival (23 March – 13 April), marking the film's Asian premiere.
